Album Deep Cuts and Recommended Listening

Posted on: February 20, 2008 4:46 pm

I am a big fan of classic rock, punk, grunge, alternative and even pop music from the 60s to the 1990s.

Starting with Classic Rock, I used to live in Philly and loved when they had a "deep cuts" weekend on the old WYSP (1980s / 1990s).  This is where I heard a lot of great songs from well known artists that you did not hear regularly.  While on this message board, some people have turned me on to a lot of songs and albums I had forgotten about (Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds). Unfortunately, many of those threads have been archived.

I will be posting songs / albums from bands that I like and encourage people to do the same.

Album Deep Cuts and Recommended Listening

Guns and Roses - I used to love her

Clash - Train in Vain

Yes - the album 90125 is a great album, but lost because it came out in the 1980s

U2 - the EP Wide Awake in America...specifically, the song A Sort of Homecoming

Talking Heads - Wild Wild Life

ZZ Top - I got the Six (off the Eliminator Album)

Eagles - The Last Resort

Album Deep Cuts and Recommended Listening

I am listening to the Album "Who's Next" right now.  The two songs "The Song is Over" and "Getting in Tune" are great songs.  My Wife is also a really good song.  If your only experience with The Who is from the hundreds of greatest hits / compilation albums, you are missing some of their best work.
